My team worked with Novozymes in the Fall. Since Novozymes specializes in the industrial application of enzymes, they were interested in exploring routes to commercially viable sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs). My group explored various technologies capable of producing SAFs, and evaluated the economic viability of each technology to recommend a most viable route. We also conducted an extensive voice-of-customer campaign wherein we contacted industry professionals relevant to both the production and sale of SAFs. We presented our findings at a mid-point meeting, the Novozymes Science Forum, and the final summative presentation.
