Career Goals

My educational experiences with science and biotechnology have left me fascinated with the subject. I hope to enter the field of biotechnology via employment at a start-up company, as that experience will synergize well with lessons learned from the MMB program. Eventually, I want to start my own business based around the biomanufacturing of chemicals. My most immediate goal is to develop a skillset that allows me to profitably interact with the increasingly diverse field of metabolic engineering.

Coursework in my graduate program has honed my communication and presentation skills. Check out the hyperlink above to see a few key examples of deliverables from my first semester at NCSU

My graduate program has allowed me to experience multiple internships, and these have given me my most impactful professional development. Click the internship hyperlink to learn more!

The MMB program provides its graduate students with a unique opportunity: we get to interface with industry contacts. The experience sharpens the MMB student's professionalism, presentation skills, and knowledge in interesting industrial areas. I had the honor of working with Novozymes and Diviner in my first year, and the interaction generated a great deal of useful, professional knowledge. See the hyperlink above for details on this year's practicum projects
